Who is a friend?

Who is a friend? Is it Someone whom you find on Facebook and send a friend request and say, "yeah, I have a new friend" or a coworker who works hand-in-hand because you both are getting paid to achieve the goal of the owner whom you both serve for money or the one who will wake up in the middle of the night and answer you call for help, who is also willing to postpone their plans of work and their life and family (like Job's friends) and come be with you in your troubles? 

An example: God said Abraham is his "friend" because Abraham answered God and obeyed his voice and did the will of God to support God.

Is there a man/woman like that in your life, or are you one like that to someone? 

Love your neighbor as yourself! 

When Job's friends heard Job's situation, they left everything and came to him. They did not consider the distance nor say to him, "You were far away" or "If you were nearby, we could've done something." Job did not go to them and said, "Here are my affliction, be my support." Rather, his friends heard of his many afflictions through someone. Then they left everything, and came to him without even Job calling them. That's true friendship. That's love they neighbor as yourself. That's what Lord Yehoshua did. When people traveled from afar and said, "Lord, save my son," he got up and said, "I will go with you." He was willing to travel the extra mile, though Lord Yehoshua knew that he didn't need to travel, and the word was enough. Yet, for the sake of the man, he said, "I will go." - the story of the centurion in Matthew 8:5-13. Friends of the Lord - the disciples - did not lack anything, they never even had to say, "Help me!" - Luke 22:35. Their needs were met, food, clothing, shelter, etc., including the spiritual needs to chase demons away and heal the sick.

Matthew 7:12 All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets. 

So, if you too want someone (neighbor - family member or someone with whom you studied or worked or a person living next door or in your own house,  spouse,  children, roommates etc) stand by you, do to them what you want them to do to you. However, don't expect the same from them when you are in trouble as only a child of God - who is in the son - will do the same to you, because they are one in mind with the son who has the mind in his Father God, Psalm 27:10. All sons of God in heaven does it, but the perfect example is the only begotten son as we've never seen or known any other sons of God except the one who was begotten - hence, only begotten son.

Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

A friend is someone who is like-minded and does what the other person wills. Father, God of all creation, will become our friend only if we keep his commands in his son. Only those who do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God will become a friend of YHWH (the only God) in the only begotten son.
